Public sports centre "Parque Henares" in San Fernando de Henares, Madrid. 1998
Architects: Hermoso & Heimannsfeld Quantity surveyor : A. Gómez. Structure : Juan de La Torre Arq. Construction company: JOCA S.A.
The pavilion is located in between two schools, both of which use the pavilion throughout the morning. The project includes the connection of these two schools, separated by a steep incline.
The respective spaces and inclines are connected by means of pedestrian ramps. These connections allow natural light to illuminate the pavilion and together with the structural elegance give the impression that the roof is floating over the sports tracks. The plan also includes additional space dedicated to gymnasiums.
